A Manchester HIAB haulage company covering Great Britain
Hiab Haulage collects, carries and lifts loads for builders, manufacturers, hire firms, event teams, councils and private customers. Each of our lorries carries its own lorry mounted lifting arm, so the same vehicle that brings your load can lift it off and set it down where it is needed.
Manchester is our home, but it is only the starting point. Our drivers regularly make runs to Scotland, Wales, the Midlands, Yorkshire, the North East, London and the South. A job in Glasgow, Cardiff or Kent gets exactly the same planning and care as one a short way from the depot.
- Our own lorries and our own drivers
- Collections and deliveries across England, Scotland and Wales
- Containers, cabins, machinery, steel, tanks and much more
- Every lift planned before the lorry is booked

Planned in the office before the lorry is booked
Every job starts in our transport office. Before we confirm a booking we look at the load, the collection point, the route and the delivery point, so the right vehicle and the right driver arrive on the day.
You send the details
What the load is, where it is now and where it needs to go, with up to four photos.
We look at the lift
We check the access, the ground where the lorry will stand and where the load will sit.
We match the vehicle
Rigid, wagon and drag, artic or low loader, chosen to suit the load and the site.
You get a price
Each job is priced on its own, and we confirm the date and time with you.

Trained drivers who lift loads every day
The driver is the person who makes a HIAB job run smoothly. Ours drive the lorry, set it up on site, put down the stabilisers and handle the lift from the control station, working with your team on the ground.
All our drivers hold CPCS cards and work to ALLMI guidance, the standard for lorry loaders in the UK. Training is refreshed regularly, and new drivers spend time alongside experienced colleagues before they take on jobs of their own.
- CPCS card holders
- Working to ALLMI guidance for lorry loaders
- Used to city centres, busy sites, ports and rural locations
- Friendly, careful and on time

Standards you can check
We hold recognised accreditations and memberships, so you know the lorry turning up on your site is run properly.
FORS Bronze
Our fleet is accredited under the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, which looks at vehicle safety, driver training and driving in towns and cities.
ALLMI and CPCS
Our drivers are trained and carded for lorry loader work, and every lift follows ALLMI guidance.
FTA members
We are members of the FTA, keeping up with the rules and good practice for road transport.
Our Manchester office and depot
Our office and depot sit on New Street in Miles Platting, a short way from the city centre and well placed for the motorway network. The lorries are kept, checked and loaded here, and the transport team plans every job from the same building.
The office is open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday from 07:30 to 12:30. If you send an enquiry when we are closed, we answer it as soon as the office opens.
Trade accounts for regular customers. If you book with us often, a trade account gives you one invoice each month rather than one for every job. Each job is still priced on its own. Email us for the trade account form.

Questions about us
What does a HIAB haulage company do?
We collect a load, carry it by road and lift it off at the delivery point using the lifting arm fitted to our own lorry. One vehicle and one trained driver handle the whole job from start to finish.
Where are you based and where do you work?
Our office and depot are on New Street in Miles Platting, Manchester. From there our lorries run to sites across England, Scotland and Wales every week.
What training do your drivers have?
Our drivers hold CPCS cards and work to ALLMI guidance for lorry loaders. They also drive under our FORS Bronze accreditation, which covers safety and city driving.
How does a trade account work?
Every job is still priced on its own, but you receive one invoice each month instead of one per job. Email us and ask for the trade account form.
When is the office open?
Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 07:30 to 12:30. Enquiries sent outside those hours are answered when the office reopens.
Tell us about your load
Send us the collection and delivery points, a description of the load and a few photos of the site. We will plan the lift and send you a price.
