Portable cabin transport by the lorry that lifts them
Hiab Haulage is a Manchester HIAB company moving cabins for builders, hire firms, schools, councils, utility teams and private customers right across Great Britain. Our lorries carry their own lifting arm, so the vehicle that brings your cabin also lifts it off and places it where it is needed.
If you have cabins to be moved, whether that is a single office arriving on a new site or a whole compound heading back to the depot at the end of a contract, we plan the job around your dates and your site.
- Site cabins, offices and canteens
- Welfare units, drying rooms and toilet blocks
- Steel anti vandal cabins and security units
- Refurbished cabins going out from hire depots

Every cabin lift is planned first
A cabin move goes smoothly when we know about it in advance. Before we confirm the booking we look at the cabin, the collection point and the delivery point, so the right vehicle turns up and the driver can set the stabilisers on firm, level ground.
It helps to tell us:
- The type of cabin and whether it is empty
- Where it needs to sit and what it will sit on
- How the lorry reaches the spot, including gates and turning space
- Any overhead cables, trees or tight corners near the base
Our slingers and drivers work to ALLMI guidance and hold CPCS cards, so the cabin is rigged, lifted and landed with care. Send us photos through the cabin moving quote form and we will come back with a plan and a price.

Site cabin delivery for hire fleets and contractors
Single cabins travel on rigid HIABs. Larger runs go on wagon and drag HIABs, carrying one cabin on the lorry and another on the trailer, which keeps the number of trips down when a whole site is being set up.

Stacking, swapping and clearing cabin yards
Hire companies use us to load out refurbished units, bring cabins back in at the end of a hire and stack them in the yard so space is used well. Our artic HIABs suit the larger steel cabins, and the lift is controlled from start to finish so units land square and level.
We can also collect a cabin from one site and take it straight to the next, which saves a trip back to the depot and keeps your fleet working. Regular customers can open a trade account for one monthly invoice, with every job still priced on its own. Email us to ask for the trade account form.

Cabin moving questions
How does portable cabin transport with a HIAB work?
The lorry arrives, our driver lifts the cabin onto the bed with the lorry mounted lifting arm, carries it to the new location and lifts it off onto its base. One vehicle and one driver handle the whole move.
Can you move more than one cabin at a time?
Often, yes. Our wagon and drag HIABs can carry a cabin on the lorry and another on the trailer, which suits hire companies and contractors moving several units at once. Tell us how many cabins you have and we will plan the loads.
Can you stack cabins or set them onto prepared bases?
Yes. We regularly stack cabins at depots and set them onto pads, sleepers and prepared bases on site. Let us know the layout you want when you ask for a quote.
What details do you need for a quote?
The collection and delivery addresses, the type of cabin, where it needs to sit and how the lorry gets in. Photos of both ends are a great help and you can add up to four to the quote form.
Do you deliver cabins outside the North West?
Yes. We are based in Manchester and move cabins to and from sites across England, Scotland and Wales.
Got a cabin to move?
Send us the collection and delivery addresses, the type of cabin and a photo of where it needs to sit. We will plan the lift and send you a price.
