Cabin installations

Setting cabins into place at Caernarfon

Several of the photographs on this page come from cabin work in Caernarfon, where our rigid and artic HIABs lifted cabins off their beds and set them into position on site. It is the kind of job we do all over Wales, for schools, councils, contractors and businesses that need extra space quickly.

A cabin installation starts well before the lorry arrives. We agree where each cabin will sit, check that the bases are ready and work out the order the cabins need to arrive in. On the day, each unit is lifted from the lorry and lowered straight onto its base, so the site team can get on with connecting services.

Why a rigid HIAB suits so many Welsh sites

Many Welsh deliveries are to town centre plots, school sites and compact yards reached by narrow lanes. A rigid HIAB is a single, compact vehicle, so it can get close to the drop point, set its stabilisers and lift the load into place with very little room to spare. Where a site has more space and more units, an artic HIAB can carry a larger load in one trip.

Loads leaving Wales as well as arriving

Wales is home to manufacturers whose products need to reach customers all over Great Britain. Glamping pods are a good example. The photograph shows pods loaded on a wagon and drag for a run from Wrexham, and pods collected in Wrexham have been delivered to Inverness on our Scottish runs.

Because our lorry lifts the load on at the maker's yard and off again at the customer's site, the whole job is handled by one lorry and one driver. That makes us a simple choice for glamping pod delivery and for regular HIAB collections and deliveries from Welsh businesses.

Regular customers can open a trade account and receive one invoice each month, with every job still priced on its own. Email us to ask for the trade account form.

Before we book

Four things we check for every Welsh job

Every lift is planned before the vehicle is booked. These are the questions we work through with you, and the HIAB quote form lets you answer them with up to four photos.

1

Access

How the lorry reaches the site, including gates, lanes and any tight turns.

2

The base

Whether the base or hard standing is ready for the load to be set onto.

3

Overhead

Any cables, trees or structures near the lifting area.

4

Timing

The delivery window that suits your site team and the order loads should arrive in.

Questions from customers in Wales

Do you provide HIAB haulage in Wales?

Yes. We work right across Wales from our Manchester base, including Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham, Caernarfon, Bangor, Anglesey and Aberystwyth.

Can you install several cabins on one site?

Yes. We deliver cabins in the order you need them and set each one onto its prepared base. Where it helps, more than one of our HIABs can work on the same installation.

Can you collect glamping pods from a maker in Wales?

Yes. We collect pods and timber cabins from Welsh makers and deliver them to sites in Wales, England and Scotland.

What do you need to know about the site?

The address, where each load needs to sit, how the lorry gets in and any overhead cables or tight corners. Photos sent with the quote form are a great help.

Planning a job in Wales?

Send us the addresses, a description of the load and a few photos of the site. We will plan the lift and come back to you with a price.
