Working safely where people are busy
The photograph at the top of this page shows one of our HIABs lifting a unit at a hospital site in Middlesbrough. Sites like this stay busy all day. Staff, patients, visitors and ambulances all need to keep moving while the lift takes place, so the planning matters as much as the lifting.
Before we book the vehicle, we talk to the site team about:
- The time of day that causes least disruption
- The route the lorry takes into and out of the site
- Where the lorry stands and where the stabilisers go down
- The area that needs to be kept clear during the lift
- Who on site will meet the driver and sign the load off
The same care goes into deliveries at schools, offices, retail parks and factories that stay open while we work. Our drivers hold CPCS cards and follow ALLMI guidance, and our fleet is FORS Bronze accredited.

Machinery and engineering loads
The North East has a long tradition of engineering and heavy industry, and that means plenty of machinery, parts and process equipment that needs moving. We collect from works, yards and ports, carry the load on a wagon and drag HIAB or an artic HIAB, and lift it off at the delivery point.
Larger or longer items can be handled with two HIABs working together on one plan. Related services include:

Site set-up
Cabins and welfare units for new sites
When a new project starts anywhere in the region, the first loads on site are usually cabins, welfare units and stores. We deliver them, set them into position and come back for them when the job is done. Building materials can follow on the same planned basis.
