Modular buildings

Modular building installation across the UK

Modular sections, classrooms and site units collected from the factory or yard, carried on our own lorries and lifted onto their prepared bases by a trained driver.

From factory to foundation

Modular building installation from factory to base

Hiab Haulage is a Manchester based HIAB company moving modular buildings to sites all over Great Britain. The same lorry collects each section, carries it safely and lifts it off at the delivery point, so your building arrives and is placed in one smooth operation.

We work with modular manufacturers, hire companies, contractors, schools, colleges and healthcare sites. Whether you need a single office unit or a run of sections for a larger building, we plan the deliveries so each piece arrives when your installers are ready for it.

  • Modular classrooms, offices and welfare buildings
  • Multi section buildings delivered in sequence
  • Glazed and finished units handled with care
  • Collections from factories, depots and existing sites

How we plan a modular building delivery

Modular units are large, finished and valuable, so the planning matters as much as the lift. Before we confirm a booking we look at the size of each section, the route in and the space at the base, and we choose the vehicle that suits the job.

It helps to send us:

  • The number of sections and the order they go in
  • Photos of the prepared base and the access road
  • Any overhead cables, gates, kerbs or tight corners
  • Your installation dates and site working hours

You can add up to four photos to the modular building quote form, and we will come back to you with a plan and a price.

Working alongside your installers

Our drivers hold CPCS cards and work to ALLMI guidance. They work closely with your installers, lowering each unit gently so it can be guided onto its jack legs and levelled before the next section arrives.

Why customers choose us

A steady hand for finished buildings

Modular customers come back to us because their units arrive on time and in the condition they left the factory.

The right vehicle

Rigid HIABs, wagon and drag HIABs, artic HIABs and extendable trailers, matched to the length of each section.

Careful handling

Finished walls, glazing and cladding are protected on the journey and during the lift.

FORS Bronze fleet

Our accredited fleet is run with safety in mind on busy city sites and narrow approach roads.

Wherever the building is going

Modular deliveries across Great Britain

From city campuses to rural schools and business parks, we deliver modular buildings to every part of England, Scotland and Wales. Every job is planned the same way, whatever the distance.

Moving a single site cabin or welfare unit instead? See our portable cabin transport page. For extra long sections, our dual HIAB lifts use two lorries working together.

Modular building questions

Can you handle modular building installation with a HIAB?

Yes. Our lorries carry each section to site and the lorry mounted lifting arm sets it onto the prepared base, ready for your team to level and connect.

Do you deliver modular classrooms?

Yes. Modular classroom delivery is a regular job for us, and we are happy to plan around school holidays and quiet times on site so the work fits your timetable.

Can you set more than one section on the same day?

Yes. Multi section buildings are planned as one job, with the sections loaded and delivered in the order your installers need them.

What do you need from us before quoting?

The collection and delivery addresses, the number and type of sections, photos of the base and the access, and your preferred dates. Every lift is planned before the vehicle is booked.

Do you work outside the North West?

Yes. We are based in Manchester and deliver modular buildings to sites across England, Scotland and Wales.
